Jane B. Shafer 87, died on January 31, 2019 at Greenwood House in Ewing, NJ. Daughter of the late Donald E. Baldwin and Laura J. Hanley, step-daughter of the late Virginia Baldwin, and wife of the late Arthur E. Shafer and William F. Kuestner.
She is survived by her children, David Shafer (Diane) of San Antonio Texas, Martha Sheely (Jake) of Media, PA, Thom Shafer (Patty) of Estes Park, Colorado, and Jeffrey Shafer (Shirley) of Culver City, CA, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, a sister, Barbara Burd of Hamilton Square, NJ, niece Marjorie Tippett of Chapel Hill, NC and nephew Peter Burd of Marlton, NJ.
A longtime resident of Titusville, NJ, she had lived in West Trenton since 1983. She was a graduate of Mercer Hospital School of Nursing, Trenton State College, and Rutgers University. She had been employed as a staff nurse, school nurse, teacher, training consultant, and an Administrator at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
She was active in professional and community organizations and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing.
Memorial services will be at a future date.
In lieu flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Jane to: Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing (UUCWC) Capital Fund, 268 Washington-Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville, NJ 08560.
